Leaders Sports Awards – 2020 round-up

Ascot Racecourse, ATP, ICC, F1, R&A, Southampton FC, Wimbledon and UEFA – whose industry-leading impact was reviewed by over 50 international judges – were all recognized for their work over the last 12 months, and innovations developed in response to Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions.

This included, in the Content Creation category, The Open for the Ages – a broadcast product developed by the R&A that imagined a Championship contested by the legends of the sport, featuring 50 years of archive footage woven together with modern graphics and new commentary.

Two Circles worked closely with The R&A to syndicate digital content from The Open for the Ages to media platforms across the globe, also reporting on the scale of engagement with the global audience and the direct impact on revenue streams such as eventday hospitality and e-commerce.

Sam Yardley, who leads Two Circles’ business and two offices in North America, was named in the Leaders Under 40 Class of 2020 alongside 29 other leading sports executives across the world. Under Sam’s leadership, Two Circles’ North American business has experienced revenue growth of over 800% and staff growth of 200%.

Visit the Leaders website for more details about the organisations and people recognized for their work in 2020.
