Tom’s first experience of analysing sporting data came at the University of Bath, when he completed an econometric study into referee bias in the Premier League. After completing his Economics degree, he joined Deloitte’s operations consulting practice. He focused on business transformation projects during his 4 years in consulting, working with some of the world’s biggest international retailers and pharmaceutical companies to implement large scale operational and technological change. More recently he was the UK data lead for a global supplier management programme, before joining Two Circles in May 2016.
Prior to university, Tom represented his school 1st team in 4 different sports before coaching sport at a primary school for a year. After a long love affair with traditional sports during school and university, Tom has more recently competed in Crossfit, had a boxing fight (which he drew…) and played Premier League American football for Yorkshire. He is also a big NFL fan, watching everything from pre-draft college game film through to live games at Wembley featuring his beloved Detroit Lions. After recovering from 3 surgeries on his shoulder, he now plays for the London Blitz following his return to the South.
