Leading a Triathlon World Series event on a baking hot Mexico circuit, an exhausted Jonny Brownlee was leading the race and looked set to claim the overall world title. However, with just 700m to go, he began to weave across the road in the hot and humid conditions and was over-taken. However, knowing a second place finish would still give Jonny a chance at the overall title, Jonny’s brother Alistair – the next athlete down the road – sacrificed his own race to prop up his brother to support him the final 200m before pushing him over the line ahead of him.

Jonny, an Olympic silver medallist, collapsed to the ground the moment he crossed the line, but the clip went viral for the support and sacrifice Alistair showed for his brother to help him towards his goal. Ultimately, Jonny would just miss out on the title, but the brothers’ show of unity won over fans around the world.
