United In Our Vision

To be united in vision, there must be an equal playing field.

On September 6, 2022, U.S. Soccer and the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association (USWNTPA) signed a collective bargaining agreement to provide equal pay for the men’s and women’s national teams. The victory for equal pay was a result of the 2019 federal gender discrimination suit USWNTPA filed against U.S. Soccer, and years of fighting pay discrimination. The lawsuit challenged U.S. Soccer to create equal pay structures for team appearances and tournament wins.

The women’s national team and the USWNTPA, the men’s national team and the U.S. National Soccer Team Players Association (USNSTPA), and U.S. Soccer eventually all came together – united in vision, to create a better future for soccer in the U.S.
