Two Circles welcomes 19 new mentees to the Diversity in Sports network

Posted on May 24, 2023 By Emily Chow

Two Circles has welcomed its fourth cohort of Diversity in Sports, a programme that supports the growth of under-represented talent within the sports industry, to its London headquarters. The 2023 programme will see 19 individuals receive bespoke mentoring, support and learning and development sessions, acquiring skills and knowledge to help them breakthrough into the sports industry.

MEET THE CLASS OF 2023

The mentees met for the first time recently to discuss their career aspirations, meet their mentors, and learn more about the ecosystem of the sports industry during a two-day workshop, which kicked off the 2023 syllabus.

It’s only the second time the programme has been held in person – it was launched just before the start of the COVID pandemic in March 2020, with the first two years held exclusively online.

The cohort were given a glimpse of Two Circles’ core services, including Content, Rights Management, Marketing and Consultancy, Data & Technology, and concluded with an engaging Q&A with Jess Freeman, Head of People at Six Nations.

The programme switches to virtual learning through fortnightly sessions, with guest speakers and workshops to help them on their career journeys.

The addition of the 2023 cohort takes the Diversity in Sports alumni to 76 in total, a network Pranav Soneji, Director, Content at Two Circles hopes will the group will continue to connect with long after the programme ends.

“We’re immensely proud of the impact of the programme,” said Pranav, who helped launch the programme in 2019. “It remains an integral part of our long-term strategy as we look to build a better future for the sports industry.”

“It’s imperative we maintain momentum and help accelerate change within our own agency and the industry around us – it’s our duty to ensure we represent the diverse audiences we serve.

“This year’s group have admirable and exciting ambitions – from football agents and communication managers for Formula 1 teams to a General Manager for an NBA team, we hope we can play a role in fulfilling their goals.”
